Heavensturn 2026 FFXIV Guide – Event Dates, Quests, Rewards, and Omikuji Explained
Every year, Final Fantasy XIV kicks off the New Year with Heavensturn, and if you have been around Eorzea for a while, you already know the routine. A festive vibe, a lighthearted questline, some charming lore rooted in Far Eastern traditions, and a handful of limited-time rewards you really do not want to miss. Heavensturn 2026 FFXIV continues that tradition and celebrates the Year of the Horse with style, humor, and one of the cutest seasonal minions we have seen in a while.
This guide is written from a veteran player perspective. No fluff, no rushing, just clear explanations, practical tips, and enough context so you can enjoy the event without wondering if you missed something important.
What Is Heavensturn 2026 in FFXIV
Heavensturn 2026 is the current limited-time seasonal event in Final Fantasy XIV, celebrating the Year of the Horse. Like previous Heavensturn events, it blends New Year celebrations inspired by Japanese culture with classic FFXIV charm.
The event runs from December 31 2025 through January 15 2026, ending at 6:59 AM PST. Once that deadline passes, the quests and rewards are gone. If history is any indication, the rewards may eventually show up on the Mog Station years later, but if you want them now and for free, this is your window.
Heavensturn events are designed to be accessible, quick, and story-focused. You do not need endgame gear, and you do not need to grind. You just need to show up.
How to Start the Heavensturn 2026 Event
To begin Heavensturn 2026 FFXIV, head to Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks. This is the usual hub for Heavensturn, and once again, that has not changed.
You are looking for an NPC named Uma Bugyo at coordinates X 11.5 Y 13.9. If you have done previous Heavensturn events, this should feel immediately familiar.
There are only two requirements to participate. Your character must be at least level 15, and you need access to Limsa Lominsa. That is it. No main scenario progression beyond that.
Heavensturn 2026 Quest Overview
There are two main seasonal quests in Heavensturn 2026 FFXIV.
The first quest is called Seize the Neigh. Completing it unlocks the second quest, Majesty in Motion. Together, they form a short but charming storyline centered around the Uma-no-unicolt and the symbolic themes of the New Year.
Both quests are straightforward and can be completed in under an hour, even if you take your time.
Seize the Neigh Quest Walkthrough
After speaking with Uma Bugyo in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks, you will begin Seize the Neigh.
From there, you are sent to speak with Uma Yoriki at X 11.6 Y 11.9. This keeps you within Limsa, which is nice. Seasonal quests that bounce you across the world can get annoying, but Heavensturn keeps things tight.
Next, you will interact with the Uma-no-unicolt itself. This is your first introduction to the star of the event. Once that interaction is done, head to X 11.0 Y 11.4 to speak with Quentenain.
After that, you need to talk to two more NPCs in Limsa Lominsa.
The Sated Citizen at X 9.3 Y 8.1
The Storm Lieutenant at X 12.7 Y 12.8
Once both conversations are complete, return to Uma Bugyo at X 11.5 Y 13.9 to finish Seize the Neigh.
At this point, do not panic if you do not have the minion yet. That comes from the second quest.
Majesty in Motion Quest Walkthrough
Majesty in Motion is where Heavensturn 2026 FFXIV really leans into its playful side.
Start the quest by speaking with Uma Bugyo again in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks. You will then be sent to Middle La Noscea to meet Uma Yoriki at X 21.4 Y 24.2.
The fastest way to get there is by using the Limsa Lominsa Aethernet to travel to Zephyr Gate. From there, it is a short run.
After a short cutscene, you will interact with the Uma-no-unicolt at X 21.5 Y 24.2. This is where the quest shifts into a follow and observe sequence.
You will follow the Uma-no-unicolt as it moves between locations. Each time it stops, you interact with it. Then you interact again to have it lead you to the next spot. You repeat this process three times.
There is no combat, no timers, and no failure condition here. Just enjoy the ride.
Once finished, you are sent back to Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks. Speak with Uma Bugyo one last time to complete Majesty in Motion.
Your rewards are granted immediately.
Heavensturn 2026 Rewards Explained
Completing both Heavensturn 2026 FFXIV quests gives you several limited-time rewards.
The highlight is the Uma-no-unicolt minion. This white and red unicorn themed minion fits the Year of the Horse perfectly and has a lot of personality. Seasonal minions tend to become rare over time, so this is an easy recommendation.
You also unlock the Hitting Full Stride achievement, which is exclusive to this event.
Beyond the quest rewards, the seasonal vendor offers additional items.
How to Get the Gilded Screen Housing Item
The Gilded Screen is one of the standout Heavensturn 2026 rewards, especially if you care about housing or interior design.
To purchase it, speak with the Uma Shonin Far Eastern Merchant at X 11.3 Y 13.6 in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks.
The Gilded Screen costs 6000 gil. Compared to housing items on the market board, this is extremely reasonable.
The vendor also sells Zoni, a level 9 food item that boosts GP and Perception, and Magicked Prism Advent Cakes, which are festive fireworks.
Omikuji and New Year Fortunes
No Heavensturn event would be complete without Omikuji.
Omikuji are New Year fortunes inspired by real-world Japanese traditions. In Heavensturn 2026 FFXIV, you can draw an Omikuji by speaking with the Far Eastern Omikujishi at X 11.8 Y 14.2 in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks.
Each Omikuji costs 100 gil and gives you a random fortune. These are mostly flavor text, but longtime players enjoy reading them every year.
Interestingly, the 2026 Omikuji include new Prosperity themed lines that some players believe hint at future content related to the upcoming 8.0 expansion. Whether that is intentional or just fun speculation is up for debate, but it adds an extra layer of interest.
Is Heavensturn 2026 Worth Doing
Absolutely.
Heavensturn events are some of the lowest effort, highest charm seasonal content in Final Fantasy XIV. The quests are short, the rewards are unique, and the atmosphere is relaxing compared to the usual raids and roulettes.
For new players, Heavensturn 2026 FFXIV is a gentle reminder that the game is not always about optimization and damage meters. For veterans, it is a familiar tradition that marks the passing of another year in Eorzea.
Veteran Tips for Heavensturn Events
Do not wait until the last day. Seasonal servers get busy, and real life has a way of interfering.
If you care about housing items, buy them during the event. Prices often spike later if they become tradeable.
If you are short on gil and want everything, 6000 gil is trivial for most players, but newer characters may feel it. Some players choose to supplement their income through FFXIV gil marketplaces like G4mmo, though casual play and roulettes are more than enough for this event.
Final Thoughts on Heavensturn 2026 FFXIV
Heavensturn 2026 FFXIV stays true to what makes these seasonal events special. It is short, charming, and full of personality. The Year of the Horse theme fits naturally, the Uma-no-unicolt minion is a great reward, and the Gilded Screen is a solid addition to any home.
If you play Final Fantasy XIV at any level, there is no real reason to skip this event. Show up, enjoy the story, read your fortune, and start the New Year in Eorzea on a positive note.
Just do not forget. January 15 2026 comes faster than you think.
